How much do you charge? charge?

Our rates from September 2024 for one-to-one tutoring (45 minute lesson, face-to-face or online) are:

Years 8-9 and GCSE (including iGCSE): £60
AS and A-Level: £60
Practical Personal Finance Course: £60 per module

What methods of payment do you accept?

We accept payment by cash, cheque or bank transfer. Please make cheques payable to either O.Wedgwood or L.Wedgwood (NOT Wedgwood Tutors – thank you!).

We ask for payment on a lesson-by-lesson basis.

Do you only tutor weekly sessions?

We prefer to tutor students on a weekly basis during term time as this offers the best balance between learning and value for money. However, we understand that sometimes a fortnightly session is the only practical option for some, so we are happy to accommodate this as well.

What about tutoring over holidays?

Sessions during the holidays can also be arranged and this is also a good opportunity for those students on our waiting lists to book sessions that were unavailable during term time. Do get in touch if you would like to discuss this further.

What about Cancellations/Lateness?

We will try to accommodate any rearrangement of lessons that you need. However, we do require at least 48 hours notice for any cancellation as we are booked up at least 1 week in advance, otherwise we will need to charge for the cancelled lesson.

Communications

Emails can sometimes be unreliable. For that reason, we will always aim to respond to your email to confirm appointments etc. If you don’t get a reply, it usually means your email didn’t get through to us! In that case, please either resend the email, or give us a call.

Will I keep my tutoring session from year to year?

From one academic year to the next, we usually have a new intake of students as others finish their exams and move on to pastures new. For our existing students who continue with us, we guarantee to reserve a weekly session for them that suits their availability. However, please note that we will only be able to guarantee a maximum of one 45 minute session per week.

Please Note…

We strive to be the best teachers we can be and to make a positive difference to our students’ achievements and enjoyment of their subject. We also aim to be as reasonable and accommodating as possible for all of our tutees and parents/guardians.

Unfortunately on rare occasions some tutoring arrangements may not work out. This might be, for example, due to repeated late cancellations, not completing homework assignments, a poor attitude during our lessons etc. In these rare situations we reserve the right to cancel the tutoring arrangement and open the session to another student on our waiting list.
